CLUB UPDATE

This has been a very eventful week when we had the sad occasion of the funeral of our much loved friend, Jim Smith. It was attended by a huge number of his family and friends, crammed in at both the crematorium and at the following wake in Polesworth. A true reflection of the affection so many of us have for Jim.

Watch out for a coming announcement of how we are going to further celebrate Jim’s life at the club.

I have been working further on our new website:

The ‘video of the week’ has been changed with Jim Smith in mind.

The Calendar page now has all of the special feature listed for 2023 and it’s looking pretty darned good. Certainly dates for your diaries.

There is now, also, a new BLOG page.

Sometimes folk clubs are criticised for having the same stuff week after week. With this in mind I have been keeping some notes and, throughout our four meetings in September & October, those present have heard over 170 DIFFERENT items of songs, tunes and spoken word across a whole range of genres. Surprising isn’t it? Eclectic or What?!

AND ALL FOR FREE!!

Finally, don’t forget that on 18th November we’ll be welcoming the Consummate Professionals, Paul Walker and Karen Pfeiffer. I can promise you that is going to be one fantastic night.

Hope to see you next Friday
